A Victorious Close to the Fall Season

Basketball

This past Saturday, our Junior Lady Lions Basketball team hosted this year’s CISAA Junior Girls Division 1 Basketball Championships and they did not disappoint.  Taking on Trinity College School in the semis, CPC jumped out to an early lead and never look back.  With key defensive stops along the way and great ball movement in the offensive zone, the Junior Lady Lions won the game, 61-30.  In the finals, CPC took on a Bishop Strachan School.  While still in 4th gear from the semis, our Junior Lady Lions didn’t slow down, jumping out to a substantial lead, all but securing the championships.  With great offensive play and crucial defensive shutdowns,  our Junior Lady Lions cruised to a 76-46 win.  Ms. Charles and Mr. Tanev want to thank the girls for a fantastic season and want to wish our six Grade 10 girls (Shayeann Day-Wilson, Latasha Lattimore, Schymera Samuels, Kathryn Tuns, Helen Liu, and Wenxi Wen) the best of luck next year as they move up to our Senior Lady Lions team.

This past Tuesday our Senior Girls’ Basketball team claimed their third title in three years.  The girls went out and dominated from start to finish.  They played with great focus and intensity which overwhelmed our opponents.  We were led by the sharp shooting of Jadaia Reid and Rebecca Demeke.  Both hitting multiple three-pointers in each game. The Seniors winning capped off a really great basketball season which saw championships at every level.  Our U14, Junior and Senior teams will all raise a banner next year celebrating yet again, another Crestwood championship.

Cross Country

Kyra Grossman and Ella Rival raced against the best runners in Ontario at the OFSAA Cross Country Championships last Saturday.  The girls ran hard, finished strong and made their team and all of Crestwood proud.  Congratulations Kyra and Ella!
