Begbie History Contest

On Wednesday, April 18th almost 30 Crestwood Students participated in the annual Begbie Society Canadian History Contest. Students analyzed images, editorial cartoons, documents and other primary sources from Canadian history to demonstrate their critical and historical thinking skills. Results from the national contest are expected in mid-May.

On Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Jull’s Canadian Literature class welcomed Jennifer Jones and Walter Lindstone, two guest speakers from the Native Canadian Cultural Centre’s Aboriginal Education Outreach Program. On Friday May 4th, 2012 Crestwood Preparatory College will hold its annual prom at the Bayview Golf and Country Club (25 Fairway Heights Drive, Thornhill). Grandparents Breakfast

On Monday, April 23, Crestwood will be celebrating its 3rd Annual Veterans/Grandparents Breakfast. When the school was started, the Grandparents’ Breakfast was among our first traditions, so Crestwood grandparents could visit the school and spend some time and breakfast with their grandchildren. Three years ago, we combined the Grandparents’ Breakfast with the Oral History Project.

Tristan Lim recognized by the Historica-Dominion Institute

On Wednesday, April 4th, the Crestwood Varsity track and field team participated in their first event of the season. Emmanuel Zambazis placed 1st in the midget boys 1500m, and 1st in the midget boys 800m! Last Wednesday night marked the first night of the 66th Annual Sears Festival Regional Showcase at Hart House Theatre. Following the showcase, an awards ceremony was held to honour students who exemplified outstanding achievements in secondary school theatre.
