On Wednesday May 22th, Courtney Mayberry and Amy McCulloch fought their way to the Under 14 Championship badminton finals at Saint Andrew’s college and finished second.  They played a total of 5 matches throughout the day fighting their heart out to the very end.  This amazing result reflects their hard work, commitment, and improved skills.  Congratulations girls!

The Boys and Girls Badminton Teams had a fantastic day Wednesday at the CISAA Badminton Championship Tournament at Crescent School! All students played well and had fun. A big shout out goes to Joshua Deng, who didn’t lose a single match, and to our Mixed Doubles team Elaine Chen and Thomas Ellinidis, who placed second in the Championship! Well done Juniors!

The Senior Boys and Girls Badminton teams competed in the CISAA Championships yesterday.  5 of 11 of our Crestwood entries put up wins in their matches to finish in the middle of the pack against some very strong and experienced competition.  Boys doubles team of Snow Ren and Samuel Li finished 6th after some hard fought 3 game matches.  Helen Liu won her first round match in Singles 1 division and finished with some close games against some very tough competition.  Danny He won 2 out of 3 matches to finish 5th.  Greg Quon and Aries Wang had a final comeback victory finishing the day with only 1 loss.  Crestwood had a young rookie team this year and they showed improvements at every competition this season.  Congratulations to all members of this years Badminton team and best of luck as they build on their experience to become a top-ranked team in the coming years.

Softball

Last Thursday, the U14 Boys Softball team completed their season with a game vs. UCC Prep.  Although the final score was not close, the boys did put up some noteworthy highlights, including home runs from Jack Van Volsen and Patrick Shain, a 3 run RBI double from Paolo Frasca, and a 3 for 3 hitting performance from Thomas Dennison, who was on base at every bat.  Despite the loss, the boys nevertheless show promise for the future. Your coaches appreciate your efforts this year.

Soccer

The U14 Girls’ Soccer team played their first ever playoff game in several years Wednesday afternoon at De La Salle.  Despite trying to make a game of it through hard work and perseverance, the girls fell behind early to a very skilled and well disciplined home side.  At the end of the day, the girls walked away poorer for the 5-0 result but richer for the experience of participating in playoff-style soccer.  Coaches Maziarski and De Franco would like to applaud each and every member of the team for a fun and rewarding year.

Track & Field

Congratulations to the U14 Track and Field team on a great championship meet and the end to an excellent season! The team hurdled, sprinted, jumped and threw many personal bests.  Congratulations to Kanmi, Beatrice, Jordan and Sophie on a great season. See you all for Cross Country in the fall!
