Crestwood Cares About St. Felix – Deadline Extended

Dear Parents

In celebration of the upcoming holiday season, Crestwood Cares, with the help of the Crestwood School Community, plans to share some of the warmth and excitement of this time of year with the current residents of St Felix House. In addition, we believe it is important for Crestwood children to help other children. With this in mind we would like to make a financial contribution to Covenant House during this holiday season. Covenant House provides shelter, food, and crisis care to up to as many as 300 homeless youth in Toronto each day. Follow-up care, providing stability, guidance and opportunity is also made available..

The St Felix Centre supports the most marginalized and vulnerable members of the community. They provide transitional housing, meals, clothing, recreation activities, support groups, housing help, and an overall sense of community and acceptance. Last year, with the help of the CSPA and our parent community, Crestwood Cares provided individualized gift baskets for each of the residents. In response, we received letters of heartfelt gratitude, one of which is attached.

This year, with your help, Crestwood Cares would like to make a financial contribution to the St. Felix holiday dinner as well as providing a modest gift for each of the 20 residents. In order to accomplish this and make a financial donation to Covenant House, we ask parents to contribute a minimum of $20.00 to this philanthropic endeavour by Friday, December 14th (All cheques payable to Crestwood School). The Crestwood Cares committee will use half of your financial contributions to purchase much needed items and small treats for the twenty women of St. Felix House, and make a donation to their holiday dinner. The other half of the Crestwood Cares collection will be donated to Covenant House.

Crestwood Community Service students will help to assemble and wrap the presents for St. Felix House.

We kindly ask that parents and students join us in helping to share our community’s good fortune with others. Thank you very much for helping Crestwood Cares in making this holiday season a happy one for others.

Sincerely,

Crestwood Cares
