“Crestwood Cares” partners with St. Felix Centre

Dear Crestwood Parents,

In celebration of the upcoming holiday season, Crestwood Cares in partnership with the CSPA, would like to provide some seasonal happiness to those most deserving this time of year. This year we have decided to partner with the St. Felix Centre, a non-profit community centre, located in downtown Toronto.

The St. Felix Centre is a multi-service agency that supports the most marginalized and vulnerable members of our community, inclusive of all religions, genders, cultures and abilities. They provide meals, clothing, recreation activities, support groups, housing and an overall sense of community and acceptance to over 200 individuals and families yearly. In addition, they provide transitional housing for up to 14 women through St Felix House.   These women are given the opportunity to develop new employment skills, computer and math classes, assistance in finding independent housing, legal support, health services, counselling, all while beginning to restore their self-esteem and sense of security.

Crestwood Cares and the CSPA would like to share some of the warmth and excitement of the holiday season with the current residents of St. Felix House, by collecting both needed items and “treats” to assemble in gift baskets. Classes will be assigned a gift basket recipient along with a suggested list of items to be gifted for the baskets. Crestwood’s class parents, the CSPA and teachers will help us to monitor the list as your generous contributions arrive, ensuring that each recipient receives the items they need and could only wish for to make their holiday season special.

All unwrapped gifts for the Holiday Gift Baskets should be delivered to the classrooms by Tuesday, December 12th, 2017.

We kindly ask that parents and students join us in helping to share our community’s good fortune with others. Thank you very much for helping Crestwood Cares and the CSPA in making this holiday season a happy one.

Sincerely,

Crestwood School
