With your assistance, Crestwood School’s Community Service Committee is initiating a two-week food drive to assist those in need in the Don Mills area. We will be collecting non-perishable food items to contribute to the Community Care Food Bank beginning Monday, February 11th and running until Monday, February 25th.
The Community Care Food Bank provides a variety of food support services throughout the Don Mills area. With over 30% of Food Bank users in the GTA being children, this food drive is especially significant to Crestwood Cares. We want all children in the Don Mills community to be able to attend school daily with enough food to be healthy and successful.
Food suggestions can be found on the flyer attached. These small items will make a difference in the lives of many families.
Please send your food donations to your child’s classroom where community service members, together with students, will check “best before dates” and tally all contributions. The entire student population will be working together to collect food donations that will assist the Community Care Food Bank. As we know, “Together Everyone Achieves More” and so, students will be working together to accumulate points toward achieving “recognition of generosity” for the entire school in the form of a grub day, a homework free day and extra recess time. Watch for Mrs. Badler’s updates of our progress on Crestwood’s Instagram.
Please consider the nutritional value of your donations. Items requiring refrigeration or beyond expiration dates should not be donated.
Thank you for helping Crestwood students with this worthwhile endeavour.
