Terry Fox Run

At Crestwood we are proud of the commitment we have made to Community Service in the past. We are beginning the 2016-2017 school year with our annual Terry Fox Walk/Run, which will take place during the afternoon of THURSDAY, September 29TH, 2016.

Students should be in their House t-shirts, Crestwood gym shorts or track pants and running shoes that will be required for the walk/run in the afternoon. Jeans will not be permitted.

For the Terry Fox Run and Walk there will be two routes, a shorter one for our Primary Division students, and a longer one for the Junior Division students. All classes will participate with their teachers and all participants will receive a certificate of completion for their run.

The goals of our Terry Fox Walk/Run are fun, fitness and fund raising for the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research. Last year we raised $5,370.95

Since 1995 we have raised $ 187,228.30 for Cancer research.

Instructions For Parents to donate on line: (or you may use the pledge sheet attached to this letter)

Go to: http://www.terryfox.ca/CrestwoodSchDonMillsON

-click-on “SPONSOR US”

-follow the prompts to complete your donation with a credit card

-following these steps you will be able to print out your receipt

Students must be reminded that while collecting pledges is an important part of this activity, they should ask family members and friends and not strangers for a commitment. The amount of the pledge is not important; a contribution of a loonie is just as meaningful.

All parents and guardians are invited to participate in this event. If you choose to participate with your child, please arrive at your child’s classroom by 2:35pm. The run will start and finish on the Glendon College field, and we are scheduled to begin at 2:45pm. Please be mindful of bringing your dog to this event. There will be over 300 children running/walking through a tight course.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 29th, 2016.

Sincerely,

Sherri Brenzel, Event Co-ordinator
