This past Monday, February 27, Crestwood students welcomed Toronto poet/performer Amani to the Learning Commons for a Black History Month event. Amani led Crestwood students on her “Journey into Me” show, using rhymes, dance, spoken word, and song to tell her personal story of growth and identity. Following the assembly, Amani joined a small group of students in Mr. Masters’ room, where she participated in an oral history interview, soon to be available at www.crestwood.on.ca/ohp.
