Grade 3 Meets Daisy

The Grade 3 classes had a visit from the Milk Marketing Board this past Monday.  A Dairy Farmer representative came into Crestwood School with her pet cow Daisy.  Daisy the inflatable cow demonstrated how cows are milked and we learned that each cow can produce 30L of milk per day…that’s a lot of delicious milk!  We compared rural and urban living in Ontario and we followed milk’s amazing journey from dairy farms, to the dairy where its pasteurized, to the stores and then into our very own homes.  All of the Grade 3’s had a very “A-MOO-SING” time learning about cows, the dairy farm and milk products.

Here’s a little joke:

Q:  Why do cows have bells?

A:  Because their horns don’t work.
