News from Ms. Hektor

Grade 6 students and parents who would like to find out more about Grade 7 Roots at Crestwood Lower School, please join us at Lower Crestwood on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 pm in the gym.  There you will have an opportunity to learn about our Grade 7 Intermediate Roots programme, and the opportunities available to our Grade 7 students at Lower Crestwood.

Interested students in Grade 5 and Grade 6 will be spending the morning at Crestwood Preparatory College onWednesday, October 21st. They will have an opportunity to tour the school, meet some of the College’s students, spend time in some Grade 7 classes, and have lunch in the cafeteria.

Grade 7 students will be visiting the Young People’s Theatre on Friday, October 23rd.  There, they will see a performance of Hannah’s Suitcase, participate in a discussion with some of the cast and then have lunch at the St. Lawrence Market. That sounds like a great day for everyone involved.

This weekend, members of the Junior Choir and the Art Committee are participating in an Arts weekend at Camp Tawingo.  Accompanied by Ms. Neely, Ms. Romanenko, Mr. Cooper, Mr. Conn, Ms. Kim and Ms.Chiu, the students will be taking part in outdoor activities, as well as immersing themselves in their art.  Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!

On Tuesday, October 13th, students in Grade 1 – 7 took part in an assembly kicking off our “Be the Change”, campaign-raising money for Variety Village in Toronto.  Crestwood School’s Househeads initiated this fundraising event and their multimedia presentation included a guest speaker from Variety Village. Ask your children about the amazing and inclusive activities that take place at Variety Village and find out how the Crestwood Community can “Be the Change”.

Finally, on behalf of Crestwood School’s Junior and Intermediate Divisions…

GO JAYS GO!

I look forward to seeing everyone in their Blue Jay’s gear on Monday!
