On Monday, April 23, Crestwood will be celebrating its 3rd Annual Veterans/Grandparents Breakfast. When the school was started, the Grandparents’ Breakfast was among our first traditions, so Crestwood grandparents could visit the school and spend some time and breakfast with their grandchildren. Three years ago, we combined the Grandparents’ Breakfast with the Oral History Project. Many World War Two Veterans and Holocaust Survivors have taken part in our acclaimed school program and we wanted to do something to thank them, so we expanded the idea. Not only do we serve breakfast, we also offer student entertainment and present our work to the Oral History participants, many of whom do happen to be grandparents. The Breakfast will be held in the school cafeteria from 9-11 AM on the morning of Monday, April 23. Crestwood grandparents who would like to attend are welcome, and we can make arrangements to have the students there too of course – but as this is a very well-attended event, we really do need RSVPs by Wed., Apr. 11 please!.
